We first started trading in Sri Lanka as a non-traditional exporter under the name of Stanley Exporters & Importers with our first shipment in early 1985, exporting Tawashi brushes (coconut fibre brushes used for cleaning purposes) to Japan.

Within just one year, we were able to expand our market further to include countries such as Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. In 1991, we became the best exporters of non-traditional products presented by the People's Bank International Division in Colombo, Sri Lanka. As a result of our achievements, we received more enquiries, through the Export Development Board in Sri Lanka, from all around the world. With the help of the Counsellor for Sri Lanka in Greece, we touched the European market for the first time in the year 2000. Later on, we had our own business trading stall every year at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre in Las Vegas and at exhibitions in the United Kingdom and was able to create strong business relationships with western buyers.

I am proud to say, in 2005, Stanley Exporters and Importers were awarded with the International Star Award Geneva and the Golden Europe Award.

Now, we endeavour to bring our newly-established business, Don Shipping, to the same standard in order to provide a first-class service to our customers.
